Sports Museum - Curation, Environmental Design & Events

Nike Chicago Style Diner

For Nike Chicago, we concepted and designed a local space to invite the community too that would celebrate the city’s sporting legacy and bring the community together. We scouted and transformed an authentic west-side diner into a immersive community hub/ Sports Museum that featured iconic Chicago sports memorabilia from Nike’s Department of Archives, created a Chicago-style branding identity with print collateral, menus, merch and posters. We curated 2 weeks of events and sporting activities that local athletes, kids and city’s heros attended (including dance, football and basketball workshops).  The diner showcased the city’s sports legacy and let kids from the community come together to celebrate the sports in their city in the past and today. Anthony Davis attended a basketball event and Q&A with the community, discussing how sports can positively impact their community.

I produced this activation, working closely with W+K’s design team, MTKG the experiential partner, Chicago Scenic the fabrication partner and Nike Chicago’s team. We redesigned every bit of interior and exterior signage, food packaging, designed and installed a vibrant basketball court, merchandise and onsite mural walls.
